In today's world, where environmental concerns loom large, sustainable living practices have become increasingly important. One such practice is the construction of off-grid cabins, which not only offer a retreat into nature but also embody principles of ecological responsibility.
Matthias, following his passion, is aware of this, and that is why he has set about building some cabins. In this case, we will see how he gets down to work with a very cheap cabin, which cost him around $350. By reusing some materials, he has managed to build a shelter to be able to devote himself to a bigger project: a cabin made of round logs.

Thank you @QuantumTech for featuring me on your channel! Also, thanks guys for the nice comments! P.S. A lot of you are surprised that I managed to build it under $400. Maybe it's because in Europe, where I live, prices are lower than in the US. Also remember that I got the roof tiles and two large tanks for free, and I already own the cast iron stove. So I was able to build this cabin very very cheaply.

Nice work brother. And I give you added respect for doin this on your own, and without using power tools! Must've been a lot of hand drilling. I wonder if you would consider doing an underground house on the next one. There is a brilliant book on it "the $50 and up underground house book" by Mike Oehler. He was part of the back-to land hippy movement and left San Francisco in the 1960's and got a place in Idaho. He had the idea to build underground to help him get through the cold winters. Anyways, Keep on building and creating!

That young man's parents must be very proud ( I know I would). Brilliant work, awesome video! Just one idea: Install door hinges to the cabin inside (and not to the outside, like here). So that the cabin door can't be opened with a screwdriver, in case it's locked.

Well done ! It's so nice without the noise of electronic machines! All by hand ! There is only one detail missing, and not the least, a carbon monoxide detector at bed level. In such a small space, if you fall asleep with the stove on, you can die without your sleep, even if there is ventilation, it may not be sufficient. A detail that doesn't cost much money, but can save your life. It reminds me of when I built my camper van all by myself, without training, just with the habit of tinkering since I was little. I lived there for 1 year. But I had a jigsaw and a screwdriver, not 100% by hand! Everything was plywood. With a 300W monocrystalline solar panel alone, I was largely autonomous all year round. With catalysis heating on a gas bottle in winter, the best balance between economical and the least risk of poisoning. But also in terms of space, it's small, and it heats up very quickly and strongly. I always had my skylight slightly open, just above the bed, for ventilation. And I had a detector!!! It never rang. This cabin lacks good insulation, it's a shame to have such a beautiful wood stove and not to have planned something to keep the heat as much as possible. I would have added a solar panel, it doesn't cost very much, it's simple to install, and it's a shame to do without it. But I understand the minimalist luxury cabin side, rather than a small house to live in all year round. Water collectors are huge! He is sure to never run out of it for washing and washing dishes. There is a French expression that says: "Il vaut mieux un petit chez-soi plutôt qu'un grand chez les autres." ---> “It is better to have a small home than a big one in someone else’s.” To say that it is better to have a small house of your own, even if people find it very small, but to be proud to own it, instead of living in a big castle that does not belong to you. In France, there is a big trend, because the only habitat that can be installed on all types of land without needing permits or very long declarations is Yourth. A friend lives there with her child, it's very comfortable and sufficient, as close as possible to nature! It’s also very beautiful, both inside and outside !

Коловорот нужен для того чтобы собирать просмотры. Все видосы где делают дома или кабинки в лесу везде используется только ручной инструмент. Никаких дрелей. Такие правила

😸Посмотреть было забавно. Итог : "отличная собачья конура"🐈 Ну или для "Трех поросят"🐷🐷🐷 Дом без фундамента . Никак не утеплен. Древесина без антисептической обработки. I’ve literally built a 10x27 cabin on my family land with my mother. Guess I should have filmed it. This cabin here is basically a kids playhouse. No offense to the fellow of course. Glad he had gumption to build something.

Do the boards not let in a lot of wind as they are not caulked in between? Will you also put oil or varnish on the wood as the bare wood will rot quite easily.

Podle krabičky od čaje bych řekl, že se jedná o Čecha😄👍. Proč nepoužíváš AKU nářadí, problém s dobíjením? U dveří bych udělal falc, prkna na okenice bych ohobloval. Zaujala mě střecha a svod do nádrží.
