I'm a blow mold technician. It's such a neat process that blows the mind the first few times you see it. There are so many parts you'd never believe you could know how every single piece of the machine goes together and works in unison, but once you do it for a couple weeks and the whole process comes together in your head it's so crazy. There's certainly a lot to it, especially in dialing in the quality of the parts being made, such as in pharma, but it's so much fun. Unfortunately a lot of these kinds of jobs are being automated away with no alternative being given for those being replaced.

Such is the progress of technology. Automation will kill more and more jobs, even ones that people consider "skilled", until automation will outpace job creation and we will need to look into alternative methods of income as a species.

I worked in plastics for almost 20 years. Started off in extruded tubing and wire shielding and then transitioned into extrusion blow molding. It is definitely a neat process when you first see it.

ROBOTICS is a wonderful thing, to the companies, but folks that have spent YEARS learning the crafts to do these things, are out of a job! The only places they can work, applying their skills are in dangerous or extreme temperature areas where no one else WANTS to work! & with all the thousands of ILLEGALS coming into our country, the job market is going bye bye!.

As a former lathe machinist i can say, this is satisfying to see, until you have to work with those machines all day long from 6am to 2pm or whatever shift. Working on a CNC-lathe ist rarely satisfying, it is either boring or you have to change parts every few seconds over eight hours. But what you always have, is the good feeling to know, that you have done something useful and the wage for this is also not bad.

6:56 , in germany we have " Pfand" , you pay extra just for the can, and get it back if you bring it to a " Pfandflaschenautomat" , the cans are pressed there, and being recycled. Glass bottles are reused (if possible, if not they are recycled too), and plastic is recycled too

At 5:43 that is an HDPE welding machine High Density Poly Ethylene PVC is a different compound. Poly vinyl chloride HDPE is far more pliable and is used for high pressure low temperature fluids that may be caustic. PVC is more brittle but can handle a little more temperature without as much expansion.

I’m a machinist so it’s pretty cool to see mills and lathes and other cool stuff like that. I’d recommend a video of a Swiss turn machine work those are not only super cool to watch but it is also satisfying plus some of those machines can have like 12 axis’ or something crazy like that

I was doing machinist work when "KEY-PUNCH was new. I never received any of that training. All my work was using micrometers and calipers. Give you an idea when...L.S.Starett had JUST come out with a DIAL CALIPER !!! I bought one and a friend of mine stole it and pawned it for dope money!

I worked in a martial arts manufacturing warehouse. One of the coolest machines would have you wrap the giant pieces of foam in a weird bag. It would suck the air out of the foam, and put it in the punching bag outer layer. Then you'd pull it off the machine and it would expand into the bag.

The poly welding is HDPE not PVC but you can weld PVC there’s special type of PVC called fPVC but PE is more cost effective and better for pressurised lines. PVC is more rigid and serves better for gravity sewers and stormwater pipes

The second process what is presented, is not kneading. There is kneading, when flour, water, salt and other ingredients are first mixed then worked out in the same machine to receive dough. The process what we see here, comes after kneading and serves to prepare the dough for further processes which make it to different products. This machine is not kneading machine, but the "cilindro" (italian) or "walze" (german).

That sugar cane cutter is amazing, wish I had one like that. 0:22. But its just sad to see a China knife to be use as a sugar cane cutter because that knife is not cheap it's very expensive, it can only be made by smithing hard work by hand not from factorys.
