@@nieczerwony yes but that has no relationship with a design you want to make and your access to information, a woodshop teacher has a lot of responsibilities to attend to and cannot help with every single thing a single student wants help with, a problem the internet can help with. so really it's more an issue with general education, apprenticeships work very well for teaching craftsmanship.

The first thing I would, once I made my chisels that sharp, would be to cut myself, so in order to avoid this issue, I always keep my tools dull.

Wow, how,..... kiln dried, mortise and tendon, with a peg. Absolutely the best way to join. This is how it was done in the ole days and many Amish and woodsman still use to this day

0:36 The sight of that draw knife blade effortlessly moving wood shavings was so sweet. At first I thought it was a katana blade. Really, the way it cut was spooky smooth. PS That’s why mastering sharpness is #1.

If i may make a correction, pine is not a softwood because it is "easy to cut". By that logic, Balsa would be a softwood, yet it isn't because softwood and hardwood describe the tree the wood came from. A piece of hardwood comes from a tree with leaves, and softwood comes from a tree with needles.
