Welding is the join together of metal parts by heating the surfaces to the point of melting with a blowpipe, electric arc, or other means, and uniting them by pressing, hammering, etc. But there is so much more to that. Welding a craft that takes a lot of practice and hardwork. We have chosen some of the best welding jobs for you. Do you know how to weld? Leave it at the description below. Enjoy!
We hope you enjoy this review of Welding Workers!

I showed a video similar to this to my Weld Instructor in college one time. He said although they are nice and colorful welds, a lot of them wouldn't hold up as a majority the time lower voltage is being used, especially with TIG/GTAW. Dunno about these ones but he'd probably have his opinion.
@MapleCakeTheLion
@MapleCakeTheLion 2 жыл бұрын
I was just thinking this, I've gone to welding school and completed SMAW, MIG, and TIG. The welds look nice because there is no movement besides drawing a straight line, but in reality you're just melting the rod material onto the base metal instead of fusing them together properly. There is a weaving motion that a proper welder would use to join those pieces, and it looks very much like something that will need repairs due to poor construction. (Some in the video, not all, obviously.)

The only thing I have to say to this is that usually color (oxidation of a GTAW/TIG weld) is caused by an oxide layer forming on the top of your weld due to insufficient gas coverage, not insufficient amperage.

Yeah. Those welds were pretty, but some of those won't have any real strength to them. You can smear it to look awesome, but if you don't melt them in deep enough, awesome looking is all you have until it cracks. lol.

I dont believe one can completely appreciate the precession demonstrated in this video unless they've ever attempted to put a bead down. Anyone can grab a MIG and fuse 2 pieces of metal... to do it uniformly with a pretty flair, outdoors with the wind coming and going, multiple times and have it all look the tits is nothing short of a craftsman skill

It is a form of shielded arc welding as. Shielded arc just means that an inert gas, gases or flux core are used to help prevent oxygen from entering the welding process.

You might think looking at this video that it's pretty easy to weld, I can tell you from experience it is NOT. I worked as a welder, pipe fitter, fabricator for over 20yrs. and it takes a long time to get this good, most never reach this level of talent. I was VERY good at my job, but I can honestly say (without embarrassment) I never quite reached THIS level. Some guys can lay down a pretty weld and it looks great until it comes under pressure and it springs a leak, it might be just the tiniest leak that only drips a single drop an hour but eventually that weld will fail completely.... The trick is making it look good and NOT leak, that's when you can call yourself a welder....

@Ken Mason Im not sure about other areas Ken.. but in Canada you are not permitted to use a torch of any kind. nor a grinder for 4 position plate test. You either got it or you have to learn it over time. If you start off as a stick welder all the others are easy. I started my 6g test with my right hand and finished with the left. I didn't even know I did this till the inspector mentioned it to me. Yes I passed. ;)

@Ken Mason .I'm not big headed Ken. My.. 'you got it or not yet' comment was not directed at you, just a general comment. I've been welding for 40 years now with no end in sight, and I've taught endless amounts of rookies. 25% took to it quickly and others needed constant supervision till it clicked, but all became trusted welders.

People ask me why do I weld freehand and It’s because I badly broke my wrist when I was young which causes pain walking the torch but they think I did walk the torch, practice makes perfect and let’s you work on jobs that have 100% radiography

THAT is an unholy abomination and is the furthest thing from welding possible. They are using what china brags to be a "cold" welding machine, which is a lie, gets zero penetration, brittle, no filler, so no reinforcement, and they're using a modified pulse TIG machine to do it and calling it a "new" welding process. ... But yes, it looks pretty, and that did look a bit satisfying. too bad that's a shity weld.
