If you really want to do the job, there are ways to do it. You don't have to have ALL the tools in the world most expensive equipment. In woodworking, there are always work arounds and multiple ways of doing things if you have the desire to learn.

The time,effort,materials used and specialist tools and skills required to do this properly are not to be underestimated. Personally I would rather go to my own work that I am good at, do some overtime and use the money earned to buy what I need or pay a proper trades person to acquire/build it for me. Time and money saved. Ok so I don’t get the satisfaction of saying I made it, I can live with that.

Yeah, I was wondering the same... perhaps he wanted the chair to look more like a Brâncuși sculpture (like a chair from "Table of Silence") otherwise, he should've left the original bamboo finish, it looked better.

Painting on some Ikea surface isn't durable. You can scratch paint off with a fingernail. Primer first will correct that but this clip shows mostly painting directly on surfaces without primer

I always think that most of these nice finishes won't last more than a week with a lot of these videos, for this reason. It sucks that they make it seem so easy, when in reality a nice finish that will stay takes some work. And not to mention money for the right stuff

Именно так)) Умиляют такие ролики, где рассказывают, как сэкономить пространство в доме, используя место под лестницей на второй этаж, или встроить в межкомнатную перегородку шкаф шестидесятисантиметровой толщины . Или как здесь - сэкономить, покупая мебель от икеи, в квартире, где коммунальный платеж раза в три дороже будет))
